I’m Laura, an Oakland, CA based landscape designer and artist who creates outdoor spaces that all ages can enjoy.

I love connecting people with nature and am continually amazed at how the right natural environment brings out creativity, bravery and independent thinking in humans of all ages.

When I became a parent I wondered how my child would connect with nature in our urban environment. That wondering led me down a path to crafting outdoor environments that were beautiful and functional for adults and places of discovery and wonder for children.

I am a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers and currently serve on the district board as Communications Chair (2018-2020) and serve on the state board as the California Chapter Communications Chair (2019-2020) and was on the district executive board as Secretary (2017 and 2018) .

I am QWEL (Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper) certified, G3 Green Gardens Group certified, and ReScape certified.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University and a Associates of Arts degree in Landscape Architecture from Merritt College.
